HSA Lehigh Valley Police Revolver League
Lehigh Valley Police Revolver League
John Meka The Lehigh Valley Police Revolver League was established by Railroad Detectives back in 1937. It is the oldest, continually operating organization of it's kind in the country. Back in those days many of the members were railroad police and officers from local police departments and sheriffs offices but was also open to the public to join. The majority of members now are law abiding civilian marksmen who strive to achieve that ever elusive "Perfect 300" score. League shoots are held every Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The shoots are held in an indoor range with 16 shooting positions and an excellent ventilation system. The facility is one of the nicest in the area and is on the grounds of the Hellertown Sportsmen's Association. Those interested in joining need only basic equipment to get started. A .22 caliber pistol or revolver is recommended, a small staple gun, and hearing and eye protection is all you need. The league has a number of Certified Pistol Instructors to get you started. A basic pistol shooting and safety course is given the first few weeks of each shooting season. Long time members are always willing to help new shooters improve their skills. All of us were new shooters at one time! For more information call or stop by on Wednesday evenings |
